My own server is not as physically secure as the providers' server.
Mine could go down and lose all mail...

But the providers' server would only accept stuff from me, if I can
log into that server, would it not ?

And I can send mail from my server machine to the providers' server
with the mail command...
Must is not be the case, that my machine does some logging in ?
Can't imagine that my provider would process mail from anyone...
