Things have changed. DSL is now active and running for the windows
computer, but I had to connect it directly to the modem, thereby taking
down the LAN. This means that the Linux box is also now connected directly
to the router-modem as well.
I'll have to install separate NICs in each box to reactivate the LAN, which
will be an entirely separate entity. Which will happen at some point, but
I'm interested in getting the Linux box off dial-up and onto DSL directly.
The ISP is using PPPoATM. The question is now: how do I set up to get PPP
to talk to the DSL router-modem, and is it possible to do with without
tearing down my dial-up settings?
